The Higher College of Technology, in collaboration with its stakeholders, empowers the 21st century students to collaboratively use their creative and innovative minds to think of any conceivable ways to optimize technological advancements and exploit the disruptive technologies in the IR4.0 era. All students of the various Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Oman are encouraged to participate and present their research papers, scholarly articles or project works during the 2nd Student National Symposium hosted and organized by the Higher College of Technology, Muscat on 10th June 2020. Scope of SNSIR4.0 2020

The SNSIR4.0 aims to organize a student symposium that focuses on IR4.0. Specifically the event is motivated to:

  1. Update participants about the emerging technologies in the era of IR4.0 through the enhancement of their computing knowledge and skill;
  2. Stimulate the participants to think innovatively through research and development;
  3. Acquire necessary 21st century knowledge and skills such as Collaboration and Teamwork, Creativity and Imagination, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Flexibility and Adaptability, Global and Cultural Awareness, Information Literacy, Leadership, Communication Skills, Social Responsibility and Ethics, Technology Literacy, and Initiative; and
  4. Enable participants to appreciate the socio-economic benefits of IR 4.0 towards the national strategic direction.

SUBMISSION OF PAPERS

Student Authors are invited to submit full papers electronically in Word format using the Easy Chair submission system on or before 30 September 2020

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, we will handle the symposium program and proceedings in (3) stages, from the Abstract Presentation to Publication

Abstract Presentation

kindly submit the abstract (500 words) of your research paper via email to technical.symposium@hct.edu.om

June 14, 2020

You can present your submitted abstract through online on 14 June 2020, Sunday. The abstract review committee will provide you the feedback via online. This will help you to start writing the full paper and the selected papers will be published via IJICSE Journal. Abstract presentation is mandatory for the consideration of your paper for the further peer-reviews and publication thereafter.

Full Paper Submission

You can submit your full paper through Easy Chair Submission. Notification of Acceptance/ Rejection will be within 5 working days.

Refer the full paper submission guidelines.

The review of your submitted paper will be handled by the review committee of 2nd SNSIR4.0.

All the submitted papers will be published as the Symposium Proceedings [online] in the month of October 2020 .

Paper Publication

The selected papers after complete modification and revision will be considered for publishing in the IJICSE Journal (May 2021 - Volume 2 Issue 2).

Once you modify the paper as per the reviewer comments, your paper will be considered for the publication in the IJICSE Journal.

The relevance of your paper content, quality in writing and the quality of the result presented etc are the factors considering in IJICSE Journal .

Proceedings & Publication

All the student papers (manuscripts) will be reviewed by the expert committee of SNSIR4.0 and the selected papers after complete modification and revision will be published in the special issues of the journal (IJICSE).

The registration of SNSIR4.0 and the publication of the student papers in the IJICSE journal will be free of charge.
